The Travel Reporter is a digital travel news magazine for the Australian travel trade and travelling public.

The Travel Reporter magazine is published monthly and features industry news, in-depth interviews offering perspectives on travel and tourism issues, features on international and Australian destinations, and cruise, accommodation and special themed reports. The aim is to provide the travel and tourism industry and consumers with information and insights on what’s new in the world of travel to help them plan their next holiday or make recommendations to their clients. The Travel Reporter blog is updated weekly with the latest industry news, special deals, contests and prize give-aways.

The Travel Reporter is circulated to an audience of 2000 followers including consumers, retail travel agencies, wholesalers, airlines, cruise lines, hotel groups, car rental companies around Australia and the world, who have signed up to read the blog updates and receive the free monthly magazine through the iTunes app store.

The Travel Reporter is written by experienced Australian and internationally-based journalists with years of experience in the travel and tourism industry.

Kris Madden, Managing Editor

Managing editor and publisher of The Travel Reporter, Kris is one of Australia’s most experienced travel industry journalists who has received a number of awards for both her reporting of industry affairs and destination stories.

In 2012, Kris won ‘Best Trade Story’ at the Australian Society of Travel Writers Travel Journalism Awards and was a finalist in the ‘Best Responsible Travel Story’ category. She has also been a finalist in the Australian Federation of Travel Agents ‘Best Travel Writer’ award three times. In 2007, she was named Australian Travel Industry Writer of the Year and won ‘Best International Story under 1000 words’ the same year. She is immediate past-president of the Australian Society of Travel Writers and a member of the Foreign Correspondents Association. Her travels have taken her to more than 60 countries. When not travelling or writing, Kris can be found in her sanctuary on Sydney’s northern beaches.
